The Vineyards
I believe in farmers who love to farm. Men and women who are rooted to their land. Families that will never sell their ranches, because those ranches have been owned by the same family for generations. Guys who don't want to step down off their tractors. They are the ones that produce grapes with long histories of quality. We are honored that they will grow Pinot Noir for us. Our grapes come from the Russian River and Santa Maria Valleys' best cool-climate vineyards. We like the marine ventilated cooler climates for Pinot Noir. We have seen most of Californias Pinot Noir vineyards planted. We have studied Pinot Noir for a long time. . Rainfall on these vineyards averages 12 to 20 inches per year. The nights are cool, the mornings are filled with fog, and the months are filled with many days of sunlight. Our primary vineyards are the world famous Bien Nacido in Santa Maria Valley and the one hundred year old Sanchietti Ranch in the Russian River AVA.
